VIDEO @Adobe @Dreamweaver CC – Dreamweaverhelper.exe Multiple processes and a lot of memory usage

memory trong task manager quá cao

When you start up the new DW (Dreamweaver CC) and then load a lot of pages into DW, you will notice that your system fan might start spinning up higher. This is due to the Dreamweaverhelper.exe. This process will load 3 at startup, and then will load 1 for every tab that you have open.
So, let us do the math.
If you have 10 tabs open.
Plus the 3 process from start.
That will give you 13 Dreamweaverhelper.exe processes.

This is a joke and will overheat your system after a while.
This needs to be resolved quickly.
This video demonstrates a workaround, however, it is by no means a resolution to this issue.

  1. 6 years later this shit is still going on. I got 48GB RAM, and that's not the problem but SOMETIMES DW Helper wants 8% CPU. I am running a 6 core at 4.23Ghz overclocked and it chokes my machine and I also have Vega 64 GPU and Dreamweaver will occasionally tax that because now they want to push Live mode. The thing Adobe should also be doing is adding in all the JSON SEO structured data and maybe expand on the properties tab for a bigger SEO interface. Anyone can make a site but not anyone can achieve consistently good fan for clients via SEO. Anyway, thanks for the video man. It's still relevant today. Adobe is making a HOG out of DW like flash was and I prefer Dreamweaver simply because it includes FTP but there's an issue now with AWS and security. I could never get it to work instead having to use Filezilla.

  2. Hi, I was experiencing the same thing in CC2015. I'm on an AMD Vision laptop A6-3400 8gig ram and when I 'squiggled' the helper file and loaded dreamweaver I get the code and design view, but no live view so I'm assuming that's a big feature of the helper. I'm going to try my workflow without live view (because it is faster and not having 8 helpers in memory seems to make everything run faster). Thanks for the tip 🙂

  3. When you pay $50/mo. (more than each of my cell phone, water, and usually electricity bill), you expect it to work to some degree. Dreamweaver and Premier almost always crash on my machine (an 8-core with 8GB of ram). Since this is my work computer, it's almost the only software installed on it. I have the welcome screen disabled, this process should never launch. Instead, it was using 25% of the CPU and heating up my house. If I have a free week sometime, I plan to take Adobe out of my workflow. Doesn't compile LESS or SASS without third party plugins, they dropped integrated Phonegap support and broke that workflow for me. I have to disable my microphone at a hardware level if I want Premier to play audio for more than a few minutes at a time. I've used better freeware (seriously, never had Eclipse crash or use 25% of my CPU).

  4. Update: I worked with a few Adobe reps today (most of which had no idea what the DreamweaverHelper.exe process was). I finally got a call after they elevated the issue to the higher-ups. The rep told me the following "That's just the Dreamweaver workflow. That's just the way it works." He then sent me a form to ask for a new Adobe feature (which I filled out — asking for a workaround). Not much help. :/

  5. Thanks for the video. Glad to know it wasn't just my computer getting ready to crash because of too many processes. Were you ever able to get a definitive answer from Adobe (or elsewhere) on this problem? I was going to make some time to talk with an Adobe rep and see what they had to say.
